Maritime/Cadetship Administrator

We are seeking a dynamic Maritime / Cadetship Administrator to join our Crewing team. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of our cadetship program, ensuring seamless execution and fostering the growth of aspiring maritime professionals.

The focus of this position is working with and through others, building and maintaining relationships, and working closely and accurately within established guidelines. The person in this position must be friendly and genuinely interested in the business, agenda, and needs of others, including the company, its management, the team, the company's customers.

A faster-than-average pace will be the norm for this position. Detail work is a major focus of the job, and those details need to be handled quickly, correctly, and efficiently.

 

Areas of responsibilities:

As our Maritime / Cadetship Administrator, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the strategic planning and operational execution of our cadetship program. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Day to day practicalities and management of the cadetship program.
  • Technical consultant and assessor for MPS.
  • Provision of insights regarding shipboard operations and similar requirements.
  • Facilitation of in-house training courses and/or crew briefing is part of his/her responsibilities.
  • Handling/coordination of projects relevant to his/her field of expertise.

 

Tasks

The Maritime / Cadetship Administrator ---

  • Prepares and submits for approval the annual cadetship plan, i.e. projection, intake, activity calendar, budget allocation, schedules, etc. in keeping with crew pool projection in close coordination with rotation planners.
  • Coordinates and handles execution of approved cadetship plan to internal and external counterparts (NSA-NTC, schools).
  • Handles day-to-day practicalities/activities of the cadetship program such as but not limited to; coordination with schools and with NSA-NTC and alike.
  • Monitors and reports status of all cadets and prepares periodical reports, including 3-6-9-12 training performance status.
  • Attends cadetship activities in accordance with the approved cadetship calendar.
  • Conducts skill-based and/or technical interview of cadetship applicants and/or applicants for selected shipboard positions.
  • Maybe tasked to facilitate in-house training courses and other similar tasks.
  • Maybe tasked to handle performance improvement talks for selected positions.
  • Prepares briefing checklist/presentation for and conducts crew briefings.
  • Handles/coordinates projects/tasks as maybe assigned by the manager.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Studies
  • Demonstrated experience as a deck or engine officer, particularly at the 2nd officer/3rd Engineer level.
  • Proven experience in maritime administration, cadetship programs, or crew management.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in handling human resources is preferred but not required.
