We are seeking a highly skilled engineer to join our team, as a Fleet Machinery Surveyor.
As a Fleet Machinery Surveyor, you will leverage your special knowledge in engine operation and maintenance, to uphold our high quality standards, and ensure the efficiency of our vessels. Reporting to the Manager Machinery in the Technology Section, you will play a crucial role in supporting and sharing technical expertise across the Odfjell organization.
Key responsibilities:
Onboard:
- Assist vessels with overhaul of auxiliary engines and other machinery
- Assist Technical Superintendent during ship dry docking, following up on engine related works
- Perform Technical verification Visit (TVV) onboard vessels
- Assist in project installations and project specification work
- Provide technical support to the Fleet or Technology department
Home:
- Perform occasional technical assessment tasks for Odfjell Manila.
- Develop, facilitate and lecture of machinery training and other relevant courses.
- Any other support tasks, as assigned by superior
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in marine engineering
- Solid technical understanding
- Minimum five years seagoing experience
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a high performing team
- Willingness to travel extensively for at least six months a year
- Strong interpersonal skills with an equally strong customer service-oriented mindset
- Integrity, quality, and safety-focused approach
