Odfjell Joins Achilles Maritime Network, Reinforcing Commitment to Sustainability

Odfjell has taken another step forward in our commitment to transparency and sustainability by joining the Achilles Maritime Network (AMN). AMN supports organizations worldwide by providing verified data and insights into supply chain management, helping companies meet investor requirements, comply with ESF regulations, and achieve sustainability goals.

With our chemical tanker fleet now part of the network, AMN’s reach has expanded to over 1,500 vessels worldwide, furthering the cause of responsible and sustainable maritime practices.

“Joining the Achilles Maritime Network aligns with our commitment to operating a sustainable business and to continuously seek improvements.

The complexity and resources required to effectively manage supply chain risk, sustainability reporting and supplier improvement are growing. Working with an industry leader like Achilles, who understands the evolving regulatory landscape, will give us access to industry-wide, independently verified supply chain data and insights.”

Øistein Jensen, Chief Sustainability Officer

The partnership supports Odfjell’s dedication to operating as responsibly and efficiently as possible, always putting safety and sustainability first.

“By leveraging the independently verified data provided by AMN, our teams will be better equipped to benchmark operations, save costs and resources. This move will also help us align with the requirements of the Norwegian Transparency Act and prepare for the upcoming Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD),” Jensen said.

By using a centralized network, we are simplifying the reporting process for our suppliers—allowing them to submit their ESG due diligence data in one place, rather than responding to multiple different questionnaires from their customers. This collaboration is a significant step forward in promoting transparency and sustainability across the maritime sector.

Paul Stanley, CEO of Achilles, welcomed Odfjell to the network:

“We’re seeing a growing trend of shipping companies recognizing the necessity of greater supply chain transparency, better reporting and embracing a collaborative approach in order to achieve it. We are looking forward to working with Odfjell and other maritime clients around the world to drive significant advancements in supply risk management and sustainability in the maritime supply chain.”
