Armed with dust masks, gloves, tongs and sacks, our team set out to collect litter from the city center bay area. The event was part of the International Coastal Cleanup, and gathered teams of students, private citizens and employees from non-profit organizations and other private companies. And the volunteer’s efforts certainly made a difference: Odfjell’s team alone collected nearly 2000 pieces of trash, making the bay area cleaner and safer, and reducing the amount of litter in the oceans.
“We depend on nature for a lot of things, yet we act in ways that harm and destroy it. It feels great to contribute – through simple acts like this, we give back a little. All of us are responsible for taking care of the environment”
