Traveling from various corners of the country, our dedicated retirees demonstrated their strong connection to Odfjell by participating in this special gathering. As they entered, each retiree was invited to pen down their most fun memory from their days at sea and post it on a shared memory board, setting the tone for an evening of fond reminiscence.
The night began with a heartfelt speech from VP Maritime Personnel, Svend Foyn-Bruun, who acknowledged the pioneering contributions: “This is our first time doing this for our esteemed retired Filipino seafarers. All of you are pioneers in our long-term relationship. Odfjell started with Filipino seafarers back in 1985, which is very soon 40 years ago. When you look at such a long history in shipping, you certainly know the ups and downs.”
The Retirees’ Night was a celebration of shared history and deep bonds, and the retirees immersed themselves in conversations, sharing stories and reliving moments from their days aboard Odfjell ships.
The event concluded with closing remarks from Agnes Enesio, General Manager of Odfjell in the Philippines, who expressed her gratitude and appreciation for the retirees' invaluable contributions to the company: “When you go home tonight, may you be reminded that you will always be carrying with you a good name, a good brand! Odfjell! Each of you has been part of Odfjell’s success and will always occupy your own special spot in Odfjell’s heart! Always have… Always will!”
