One of the most important factors in the company's growth was the introduction of vessels with stainless steel tanks, equipped to carry the numerous chemicals needed to produce modern, everyday items. Dan Odfjell, the company's third-generation CEO, is one of the pioneers of this specialized niche, the foundation of our company to this day. In his 86th year, he recently sat down with Professor Stig Tenold and shared some of the highlights from his years at the helm of Odfjell.
“To succeed, you have to have a goal, and you have to have a good competitor. It keeps you on your toes,” he said, reminiscing about the early years in the chemical tanker trade. “And, you have to give confidence to gain confidence.”
