23 Odfjell’ers organized a kiddie party and a magic show, filling the hall with smiles and laughter as the children enjoyed games and won prizes. They also shared a delicious snack with everyone, which added to the warmth and camaraderie of the day.
The Manila office prepared and distributed personal goods such as diapers, grocery items such as sacks of rice, trays of eggs, breads, milk, and biscuits, and fruit-bearing plants to the members of the Hospicio de San Jose community.
The experience resonated deeply with many. Instructor and Safety Officer Reny Ortega shared:
“The CSR was quite a unique experience; it reminded me of my sense of purpose and helped me better understand the circumstances of other people. The fulfilling feeling of giving back and contributing to society was incomparable.”
Team Leader for Offshored Accounting Roselle Aguila expressed a similar sentiment:
“I’ve always wanted to join an outreach program, so I greatly appreciate that Odfjell provided us with the chance to do so with this CSR activity. Seeing how the little things make the children and orphans happy gives a different kind of fulfillment. Their smiles and laughter remind us to never take anything for granted and to acknowledge how fortunate we are not to experience such a situation. Indeed, small acts create a big impact!”
As the day ended, the children left our Manila colleagues with a heartfelt thank-you song, a beautiful reminder of the significance of the experience they had shared together.
